The first step is finding the right therapist. I offer a free, 15-minute consultation so you can decide if we would be a good fit, and we can explore how I might be able to help you. During the first few sessions, we will define your expectations and goals for therapy.
-
A variety of morning, afternoon and evening hours are available for sessions. We’ll work together on our initial phone call to find times that work for your schedule.
-
Clients can cancel or reschedule a session anytime, as long as they provide 24 hours notice. If you cancel a session with less than 24 hours notice, or fail to show up, you will be charged the full session fee.
-
An intake consists of a thorough review of your history. We will ask you a series of questions and use assessments to create your individualized treatment plan based on your present concerns. This will include measurable goals and an estimated timeline to determine how long therapy may last. We will also use this session to go over all paperwork and answer any questions you may have to ensure your confidentiality and privacy.
-
The length of therapy depends on you and your needs. Most clients are able to see progress within a few weeks. Sessions that run either 45 or 55 minutes are available on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis.
-
Everything that is said during a therapy session is completely confidential with three exceptions: 1) If a child is in danger 2) If you are in danger of harming yourself 3) If you are planning on harming another person.

I am happy to integrate faith into our work if that would be meaningful to you. We’ll talk more in depth about what you’d like that to look like (or not) during the first session. The desire to integrate faith into the therapy room, or not, is always exclusively yours. Your values, worldview, and beliefs will always be respected during therapy.

If my job is done well, it means I eventually work myself out of a job! We will check in every session to track our progress towards your goals and make sure your needs are getting met. Some clients reach their goals and want to graduate! Other clients enjoy the consistency therapy brings and want to continue meeting on a regular basis. It’s completely up to you!
